  38. Description of the Package:

  40. PageFocus is a Windows application for creating drawing, form, document,
  41. and database.
  42.  
  43. The package contains two programs:
  44.         PFOCUS.EXE      This is named PageFocus.  Use this for creating and
  45.                         designing drawings, forms, documents, catalogs, etc.
  46.  
  47.         EX.EXE          This is the run-time program, used for entering data
  48.                         into forms/documents created by PFOCUS.EXE, or
  49.                         used as a viewer for viewing files created by PFOCUS.EXE.
  50.                         The entered data can be saved to create your own
  51.                         database.  With properly designed forms, data in
  52.                         the databases can be retreived into different forms.

  54.         To find a summary of the features of PageFocus, use EX.EXE to open
  55.         USEGUIDE.PF file and review the pages.

  58. Release Notes and New Features
  59. ==========================================================================
  60. A.  Difference between the shareware version and a registered version:
  61.  
  62.    This version contains all the features of a registered version except
  63.    that spelling check is disabled and that import/export is limited to
  64.    bitmap, PCX and PageFocus files.
  65.  
  66.    If you print out forms in the shareware version, you will find an
  67.    "Unregistered PageFocus" placed at the bottom of the page as a reminder.
  68.  
  69.    Note:
  70.    Any forms, databases that you create with the shareware version can be used
  71.    in a registered version of PageFocus.  The "Unregistered .." marking will
  72.    be automatically removed by the registered version.

  74. B.  Evaluation period
  75.    The evaluation period is 30 days.  If you do not register after the
  76.    evaluation period, please remove all the files related to PageFocus
  77.    from your computer.

  79. C. The help file provides all the information you need to run the program.
  80.    A PageFocus file, USEGUIDE.PF, contains useful information.
  81.    Another file, TIPS.PF, is useful for seeking frequently asked questions.
  82.    No printed documentation is provided.

  84. D. Minimum system requirements:
  85.         486 PC or up.  VGA, Must have a mouse.
  86.         (33Mz 486 and up + Super VGA and up preferred)
  87.         Windows 3.1 or up.
  88.  
  89.         Shareware version takes up approximately 2M Bytes of disk space.
  90.         Registered Version takes up 3.5 M Bytes of disk space.

  92. E. The button bars described in PageFocus help file is based on a super-VGA
  93.    screen mode.  If your monitor is running on VGA mode, the button bar will be
  94.    slightly different from those described in the help files.
  95.    However, this will not affect the use of PageFocus because all the
  96.    button commands are available from PageFocus menus.

  98. F. To see what's new in the current version, please use PageFocus or EX
  99.    program to open WHATNEW.PF file located in the installed directory.

  103. How to Register
  104. ==========================================================================
  105.    If you decide to keep the software, you must register with
  106.    Creative Stars, Inc..
  107.  
  108.    The registration fee is
  109.    $29.00 per copy plus $5 shipping/handling fee for US and Canada.
  110.    ( for other areas, the shipping/handling charge is $10 ).
  111.  
  112.    Upon registration, we will ship you the registered version of PageFocus which
  113.    includes a spell checker for text editing, extended import/export of
  114.    most graphic file formats, and bitmap editing capabilities.
  115.    Since the help files of PageFocus contains all the information
  116.    you need to run the programs, no printed documentation is provided.

  118.    You can register by:
  119.    1.   Phone   206-485-1737 (Weekdays 8am to 5pm, Pacific Standard Time in US)
  120.         We will need your credit card information, phone number and address.

  122.    2.   Fax     206-487-0980 (Any time)
  123.         You can select the "Register" command in the Help menu of
  124.         PageFocus (PFOCUS.EXE) or EX ( EX.EXE ), this command will open
  125.         ORDER.PF automatically.  Enter the needed information, then fax
  126.         it to us (if you have fax function properly set up on PageFocus, you
  127.         can use the fax command from the File menu).

  129.    3.   Mail
  130.         Follow step 2 to fill out the ORDER form.  Mail the order form by
  131.         including a check, money order, or provide your credit card infomation.

  137. Installation:

  139. After unzipping your PFOCUS32.ZIP, install PageFocus by running the
  140. install program.
  141.  
  142. If you have 2.x version of PageFocus, we suggest that you save your original
  143. version in a separate directory.

  145. !!!  Important...  Must read... !!!.
  146. Note:   If you have a previous "unregistered version" of PageFocus, you must
  147.         remove all the old files and directories before installing the
  148.         new shareware version.  Otherwise, you may not be able to use the
  149.         new version.

  163. order.pf        To order the full version of PageFocus, you can
  164.                 use EX to open this file and fill in necessary information.
  165.                 Then, if you have properly set up fax on your computer, just
  166.                 fax it to as with the fax command in the File menu.
  167.                 Or, simply print a copy, then fax/mail to us.

  169.                 You can also examine this file to learn about how to create
  170.                 forms using fields and tables.
